Post Partum Belly - Fit Yummy Mummy Review

Post Partum Belly can be a bit depressing, but I was just so excited to become a mom and had such a great experience with my first baby, that I decided to do it again. Nothing equals the love and joy I experience when I'm with my kiddos. But it did leave my stomach looking a little more than yuck.

Now don't get me wrong, I would do it all over again even knowing my tummy was going to look like an empty stretched out paper bag (sorry - that's how it really seemed to me) - I just didn't expect it to look so loose and out of shape and I didn't know how to deal with it afterwards.

I used to work out (not a lot - but enough to keep me in decent shape), and I used to be able to wear skinny jeans - cute, form fitting tees and not be embarrassed in a swim suit. But after having my kids, I was more than ashamed to show my body - especially the loose, flabby skin around my stomach! When I would sit down, this belly skin would literally blob over my waist band. If I was in my underwear and happened to bend over - well, let's just say I would NEVER allow my hubby to see me in that position. I found ways to work around it - ALWAYS finding a way to cover it up. But I was really getting depressed about it, and I wanted to find a way to look good without clothes on. I just wanted my old body back - anything, but this mushy mess that was my stomach now.

So I decided it was time to work out and eat right - but it seemed like life with two kids was not really cooperating with my plans. One of the girls was always awake, or needed feeding, or someone to entertain them. I had to work around their schedule - so going to the gym was definitely out of the question. It seemed like I was always running around, which caused me to eat stuff that I could just grab really quick (you know - chips, cookies, crappy stuff). So I figured I needed to find a program that was on dvd (so I could just pop it in when I had a chance) and included good meal plans.

Well, I tried several popular dvd type programs - The Firm, P90 - whatever. These programs were good - it's just that they didn't really work with the schedule of a new mom. And my family usually did not like the foods I had to eat to lose weight - so I would have to fix one meal for them and another one for me - this sucked. What I really needed was something that was geared for me - more specifically - NEW MOMS.

I started thinking there had to be SOMETHING that was designed for the lifestyle of a busy mom. So I started doing some research on the internet and almost gave up, but that's when I found FIT YUMMY MUMMY.

This program was created by fitness expert Holly Rigsby, after she had her children and realized that working out after having babies needed to be different and focus more on specific problem areas. This sounded encouraging to me, so I tried it and here are the Pros and Cons I found while using this program:

PROS:

This program is built specifically for women who have had children - I love this idea. It includes meal plans, and food ideas that include the rest of your family! The meals also use foods that are "fat burners" so what you eat actually helps you lose weight. I really liked this because I got to focus on EATING rather than NOT EATING.

The workouts are amazing - my favorite part about the workouts is that they are designed for busy moms. They can be done in 15 minute increments! Seriously, that is less time than it would take me to run an errand! I could do the workouts while my kids took a quick nap or watched a quick cartoon. She uses workouts that include "quick bursts of cardio" which is what does the trick.

And lastly, the workouts could be done in my home - no gym, no expensive equipment - just my floor and some basic excercise stuff.

CONS:

Okay, I wish I could say this system is perfect - but nothing ever is. It's just minimal stuff though - you will need to purchase an excercise ball - you know the big round ball that you can do ab stuff on and also you will need some small weights. But, I figured if I was going to get into shape - I would be using this stuff no matter what routine I was following - so it was worth it to me, plus you can find this stuff pretty cheap at your local WalMart.

Conclusion:

If you are a new mom - and looking to get rid of that postpartum belly - I would highly recommend checking out this program. I'm in the best shape I've ever been in - and I'm talking even before I had my kids!! Everybody is different, and you have to find what works for you - all I can say is this totally worked for me.
